“This is the second product we’ve entered which we felt had a good chance of receiving the NAFC approval, ” said Randy Leininger, BNR Ideas’ President. “The Ever Float is a unique product in that it can be used a float or a sinker.  And it is durable.  We loaded it full of buck shot, attached it to a line and cast it straight into the air.  When it hit the cement, we fully expected it to shatter like the bubbles do.  The only thing that happened was the lid came off and the buck shot went everywhere.  We feel confident that customers will only need to buy these once and they’ll last them until them lose them, or their buddy’s “borrow” them.”

“People kept asking us if they were for sale, so we started taking orders on the spot.  It was crazy how fast our “door prize” supply was purchased,” said Galvin. “We had to call the guys at BNR Ideas and ask them to send us more inventory so we would have more to sell over the next three days of the show.”

The Troutberry is being sold in it’s retail packaging for $5.00 during the show and exclusively at the Utah Trout Slam Booth (#1405).

The Utah Trout Slam is a statewide event that challenges anglers to catch seven unique species of trout during the 2010 calendar year.

“We’re very excited about the opportunity to participate in this unique event, ” said Randy Leininger, BNR Ideas’ CEO.  “It’s a great opportunity for dads to get their kids out on our lakes and streams, expose them to the diverse trout species in Utah, teach them how to fish while being ecologically consious, and get a little competitive with their neighbors.”

The Troutberry and Eggberry dough bait presses are available online or at Sportsman’s Warehouse.  During the Utah Trout Slam competition dates (January 30, 2010 – December 31, 2010) any angler in the state of Utah that mentions they are competing in the Utah Trout Slam and buys their Troutberry online will receive a free Hook Tamer with every order.

To qualify for the 2010 Utah Trout Slam, anglers must register as a member and pay an annual Club fee of $15. You will receive an informational packet by mail with rules and regulations of the slam from Fischen, LLC – organizers of the event.

Randy Leininger and Nick Mecham, co-founders of BNR Ideas and inventors of the Troutberry and Eggberry Dough Bait Presses received word this afternoon that they have qualified for the final round of the 2009 Invented in Utah competition.  “This is an honor and a thrill,” said Mecham.  “This competition has been great for us and has really helped us refine the message of what our product is and does,” added Leininger.  “We knew that fishermen love the product, but it is really cool to see that business people like the product as well.”

The Troutberry was chosen from over 100 applicants along with 25 other inventions to compete in the preliminary presentation rounds.  Those 25 were then narrowed down to 15 inventions which were again presented last Saturday, March 28.  From those 15 presentations, the Final Five inventions were chosen to compete at a luncheon on April 9 at Noah’s in Lindon.  Competitors will have just 7 minutes to tell their stories and then the audience will vote on a winner.
